| Typesetters, read this ;D First make a group for all of your text layers.
Fonts should be:
- Spoiler:
Normal Dialogue: Wild Words Yelling: Wild Words Bold Italic or Komica Title Thoughts: Zud Juice Italic Boxes: Zud Juice or Digital Strip Small text: Augie Sfx: As suitable Emotional Dialogue: As suitable
A font pack with all of these and more can be found here.
If you have any good font packs you would like to share, please post them here! I would love to see them.
Please be very meticulous in centering!
Save files as psds only, and leave names as the cleaner did.
Upload to forum under the project name on the topic the cleaner made. Then change the title to [EDITED] instead of just cleaned.
Some tips!!
- Spoiler:
Warped and bended text makes sound effects more interesting!! Shadows and pattern filled words are also great ;D Tutorial here: http://www.deathsvertigo.com/dp_scanlations/tutorials/fm_tutorial/warped_text.phpWhen the translator puts a bunch of dashes, please don't... put a bunch... of dashes...... Use either a brush or line tool to actually draw a long line. Alot of times, your translator is going to use symbols to represent things like sfx, box, thoughts, dialouge.... This scripting tutorial can help you understand them ^^ http://www.deathsvertigo.com/dp_scanlations/tutorials/fm_tutorial/scripting.php
A better tutorial can be found right here.
Questions can be posted here or pmed to Mei

| Let the list of great fonts begin \o/
http://www.dafont.com/letter-o-matic.font The bold italic can be good for yelling, and the font itself makes a great replacement for wild words. When paired with wild words can be used for thoughts~
http://www.dafont.com/acme-secret-agent.font This one is nice for narration and sometimes thoughts
http://www.dafont.com/kid-kosmic.font I've found this is getting more and more popular as a wild words replacement too O: Anyway, good for thoughts
http://www.1001fonts.com/steel-city-comic-font.html This one is kinda a cute handwritten font to stick on student's notebook papers or little text outside the bubble, kinda like augie
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Komika-Title I'm low on brain energy or something, I can't ID this font with a purpose. But its kinda nice.
http://www.dafont.com/komika-slim.font This one makes a good giant sound effect across the screen when the person punches somebody else down or whatever and you fill it with dots and do a nice stroke
http://www.dafont.com/komika-axis.font Same with this one, lol. If any of you ft readers are here, you might recognize it, mangastream uses it for narration. This one is pretty good for yelling too. edit: Well, would you look at that, I found one with a bunch of variations on it http://www.dafont.com/komika-title.font
Okay, this is getting a little long now, I'll stop XD At least til the next post | |
